The Department of Sustainable Economics has funded research that the Institute of Ceramics Technology (ITC) is leading alongside the company COLORKER in order to develop a system that aims to turn a traditional ceramics production factory into an industry 4.0.
The funding has been carried out through IVACE (Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness) and its PROMECE program which has the support of the European FEDER Funds for Regional Development.
The “Ceramic Brain” system will be implemented over a two-year research period at the production plant that COLORKER has in the Chilches area.
This project is crucial in order to provide a paradigm shift in the production model used within the ceramics sector. If the planned results are obtained, a new production model will be created based on knowledge, technology and highly skilled professionals.
In this manner, Colorker S.A is a pioneer in tackling the journey towards a Smart Factory.
